Apollo Systems' Marksman is the only full sheet/full image color analysis and defect inspection system of its kind. Marksman scans a complete 40" sheet in 30 seconds, analyzing over 100 million pixels, returning results in less than a second. Color bars, text, photos and art are all captured. What will amaze you are the defects the system picks up: hickies, streaks, voids, scumming, shifts, tinting, ghosting, spots, splashes, over-inking, under-inking, and more...
On-Screen Negative Mask
Within Seconds of the scan, Marksman displays a full-image negative mask representing variances and highlights any areas out of tolerance. Operators can zoom in to identify microscopic defects, or zoom back to view macro areas represented from dark grey to white across the entire sheet. The on-screen mask can visually indicate any number of issues on a press before they start causing waste.
Image Monitoring
Unlimited inspection "geometries" can be preset with individual tolerances templated by the operator. Geometries can be as simple as an overall grid, down to the most miniscule of patches and polygons. The Apollo Systems software tracks and trends and reports any variations taking place numerically and visually
Ink Densities, Presets and Closed Loop
Marksman can scan the color bars, any color bars or controls, anywhere on the sheet with pinpoint accuracy with up to 500 ink density patches as defined by the operator. It monitors densitometric readings of up to eight colors (with or without a color bar!). The Marksman can link via JDF for closed loop and ink presets, dramatically reducing make-ready time.
Registration Monitoring
As if all of the above wasn't enough, Marksman will even check color registration anywhere on the sheet.
