GMG InkOptimizer uses sophisticated color reduction algorithms to replace CMY primary colors with black, maintaining sharpness, reducing ink volumes and improving print quality. The software can be quickly and reliably incorporated into automated workflows.

Fully automatic color transformation

The GMG InkOptimizer was developed based on GMG’s ColorServer technology. Using the color recognition technology deployed in GMG ColorProof, the “4-D color calculator”, and special algorithms, GMG InkOptimizer calculates color transformations in a fully automated process. The quantity of CMY inks used is reduced, and the proportion of black ink increased while maintaining an identical color reproduction. Even though images remain identical to both the naked eye and when analyzed by a spectrophotometer, the amount of colored ink used is significantly reduced.

Profiles for Standard Color Spaces

GMG provides standard profiles for ISO and GRACoL, taking developed standards requirements into account such as the printing technology type, plate making process, dot gain characteristics, ink types, paper stock, and operating conditions. GMG Ink Optimizer Sheet Fed Offset inludes the following standard profiles: ISO Coated 27L, ISO Coated 39L with 330% total ink optimization, ISO Uncoated 29L, ISO Uncoated yellowish 30L, Gracol 2006.
