G7 Method Certification and Training

GRACoL 7 or the G7 Process is a departure from using density solely for press calibration, now including spectrophotometry to measure neutrality. The result is an improved color balance across multiple printing presses and printing technologies including Web, Sheetfed, Newspaper, and Flexographic.
Learn advanced techniques that build upon your strong foundation in densitrometric press measurement of solid ink densities (SID), tone-value-increase (TVI) or dot gain, now incorporating spectral color measurements for neutrality refinement. Your press operators will easily incorporate this new approach without additional complicated steps.
GRACoL 7 methodology is based upon actual press commercial sheetfed runs to ascertain typical, good, press conditions. Over fifteen printing providers contributed measurements that were averaged together and finally refined to define the new GRACoL 7 recommendations for exceptional printing.
GRACoL 7 is based upon TR001 data and dovetails well with SWOP separated files. Sheetfed printers using the G7 method notice cleaner colors with improved dynamic range that maintain the file's original color appearance in SWOP.
Print Buyers who seek consistency and competitive pricing will look to shops that are GRACoL 7 Master Printers, signifying consistent exceptional printing. The program offers print buyers color appearance consistency among printing providers. The GRACoL 7 Master Printer program requires an audit process of press color measurement equipment, process control procedures, and quality of printing to qualify for the GRACoL 7 Master Printer program.
